Managed Search is run on a variety of public cloud providers and their supported regions, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Managed Search assigns an LMS Region Name to identify the corresponding public cloud region. The LMS Region Name is used internally to standardize the region naming convention.

The LMS Region Name value (x-lw-region) must be used when making an API call. The Public Cloud Region value cannot be used.
